Set on the fictional Caribbean island nation of Yara, the game places players in the role of Dani Rojas, a local guerrilla fighter—playable as either male or female—who joins the revolution to overthrow the tyrannical dictator Antón Castillo, portrayed by actor Giancarlo Esposito. Castillo rules Yara with an iron fist, promising to restore the nation’s former glory through the production of Viviro, a powerful tobacco-derived cancer treatment, at the cost of enslaving its citizens.
